SCPA 1 Six-Channel Preamp

"The SCPA 1 may be one of the quietest,
most linear preamps on the market today..."
-Pro Audio Review

"The SCPA 1 preamp provided the simplest, purest signal path between the players and the amplifiers allowing me to hear more sound from the components under review and less sound from the audio system downstream... The R. E. Designs preamp is a remarkably simple and straight forward product."
"The SCPA-1 may be one of the quietest, most linear preamps on the market today, regardless the number of channels. My listening tests were reminiscent of John Hardy mic pres, various Manley components, Avalon or Summit preamps, etc."
The SCPA-1 also offers the user a discrete 24-position 6-channel Master Volume control with a tracking error of less than .1db to ensure that whatever Master Volume setting is used, each channel will track accurately. The precision level control that the SCPA-1 provides is absolutely necessary for the correct reproduction of surround effects and the correct balance between primary and ambient source material. The SCPA-1 combines versatile channel trims, precision level controls, superior op-amps, carefully designed grounding and shielding, internal line filtering along with very high channel separation. This combination makes the R.E. Designs SCPA-1 the most flexible and accurate six-channel pre-amp on the market today.

The SCPA-1, the latest high-quality audio product from R.E. Designs, offers wide flexibility to the user by having channel trims to set the gain of each channel from 6db to 18db. This wide range will allow users to incorporate unmatched amplifiers and, to some extent, unmatched loudspeakers for a full six-channel system.
Each channel trim is adjustable to within .025db of the target gain. Once the channel trim has been adjusted, a locking device can be activated on each individual channel trim to ensure that the gain will stay where you want it.
